Throughout my years with the Illinois Senate I had the honor to meet and work with a variety of individuals, many of whom have a common desire to help other people. When you enter the life of public service you pledge to be a representative for the people. Its not an easy job, its take many hours away from families and many legislators quite frankly don’t need the job; however, they have the desire to help and they cannot do it alone. It takes a team of individuals who also have a common desire to help people.
I have always said that you are an extension of the person, company or team that you work for, conduct yourself accordingly. There will always be challenges; but if keep focus on the common goal and always represent yourself with integrity and treat others as you would like to be treated, the desire to help people will be attained. You will end up helping people in all directions.
